Episode 58 with Swap Gomez
We’re on the home stretch!
The new podcast episode that just dropped today features Swap Gomez - drummer, video/content director, producer, editor and events coordinator. Originally from Bangladesh, Swap and I sat down to chat about our themes or Courage, Creativity, Community, Compassion. We ended up talking about Swap’s creative projects, his birth chart (very heavy on the Aries), the highs and lows of touring, leadership AND his connection to home and ancestors - specifically his grandmother.
Swap talks about a documentary project research project This Place Here which is also connected to a performance happening soon - essentially this is bringing together people who play indigenous and heritage instruments. Read more about CultureFest happening 6 April, here.

Other bits:
Fazerdaze (episode 53) is playing the Powerstation this Saturday! https://fazerdaze.com/tickets
A Mixtape for Maladies has a few more shows happening at ASB Waterfront Theatre this week. Directed by Jane Yonge (episode 26) and featuring Balamohan Shingade (episode 38) - don’t miss it! Community discount code: AGARAM. I’m seeing it this weekend, you should too! Lock it in.
Lastly, I watched Tinā with my mother and we bawled our eyes out. The below performance (which has had over 400k views on TikTok) sparked an idea for writer/director Miki Magasiva. Loved it.
That’s it! If you love the podcast, please go ahead and leave some nice reviews etc!
